Instructions for clients who want to receive services from material laboratory of Department of Engineering Services.
At least 03 concrete cubes should be submitted for concrete compression tests and should be brought and delivered at least 03 days before the test date.
For Aluminum powder coating thickness tests, samples of powder coated Aluminum should be submitted at least 2 feet in length.
At least 25kg of soil should be provided for soil sample testing (Proctor compaction test).
For M/S and T/S Steel bars weight tests, at least 03 samples of full length bars (Full bar) for each diameter should be submitted.
A sample of about 1½ feet length should be submitted for angle iron measurement tests.
For I section, C purlin measurement tests, a sample of about 1m length should be submitted.
When bringing Zn/Al roofing sheets for testing, a sample of about 2 feet length with full width of the sheet should be submitted.
A sample of at least 2 feet in length should be submitted for hardness test.
Before carrying out the Covermeter tests, the relevant concrete layers should be visibly leveled by removing the following amount of plaster/soil layers.
For Column and Beam - 3’ x 1’
For Slab - 3’ x 3’
For footing - 3’ x 3’
During Direct Shear and Consolidation tests for soil testing, necessary transportation facilities should be provided for the personnel of the material testing laboratory to go to the relevant work site to get the necessary samples.
Samples should be submitted with the formats introduce from Material laboratory.
